Prayer isn’t complicated.
You don’t need a bunch of fancy words.
You don’t need to sound like anybody else.
And you certainly don’t need to have everything figured out before you talk to God.
Imagine this.
There are two chairs in a room.
You sit in one.
The other remains empty.
Now close your eyes and imagine you’re sitting across from your very best friend—the person you don’t have to impress. The person you can tell the truth to.
And just start talking.
“God, I’m tired.”
“God, I don’t know what to do.”
“God, I’m angry.”
“God, I’m scared.”
Or maybe all you have today is:
“God, thank You.”
That’s prayer.
You don’t have to perform for someone who already knows your heart.
And maybe that’s the part we sometimes forget: prayer isn’t about finding the right words. It’s about bringing your real ones.
So pull up the second chair.
Sit down.
And talk.
He was already listening
