It Detached, But It Didn’t Release.

Sometimes people leave…

But they don’t let go.

Sometimes relationships end…

But the emotional hold remains.

The conversations stop.

The phone stops ringing.

The photos disappear.

Yet somehow…

The attachment lingers.

Not because they’re still present.

But because they’re still occupying space within us.

There is a difference between something detaching…

And something being released.

A branch can detach from a tree.

But if you continue carrying it…

Its weight never changes.

Some people detach physically while remaining emotionally tied to the very thing God is trying to free them from.

Others release the person…

But never release the resentment.

Some release the relationship…

But continue living inside the memories.

Real freedom begins when what left your life also loses its power over your heart.

Release doesn’t mean pretending it didn’t matter.

It means refusing to let yesterday continue making decisions for tomorrow.

Sometimes we ask God to remove people.

When what He really wants to remove…

Is the attachment.

Because until the attachment is released…

The healing can’t fully begin.

Sometimes it detached.

But it never released.

Maybe today…

It’s time to let both happen.
