A Prayer for the New School Year

As the next few days and weeks unfold, children will be heading back to school—whether it’s elementary school, middle school, high school, or college. Let’s not forget to cover them in prayer.

Pray for their safety as they travel to and from school.

Pray that their minds remain focused, their hearts stay kind, and their friendships reflect wisdom and encouragement.

Pray that they will have the courage to stand for what is right, even when it’s difficult.

Let’s also remember the teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, counselors, coaches, and every staff member who pours into the lives of our children each day.

May God grant them wisdom when decisions are difficult, patience when days are long, strength when they grow weary, and His protection throughout the school year.

Let’s pray that the 2026–2027 school year will be filled with learning, growth, favor, and opportunity.

May every classroom be covered by God’s peace.

May every student know they are seen, valued, and capable of great things.

And may every school become a place where knowledge is gained, character is strengthened, and hope is nurtured.

“The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:8
