“I believe I can fly.”
Not because I can sing it—I definitely can’t.
But because those words have always represented hope.
They remind me that before you can accomplish anything in life, you first have to believe it’s possible.
Every dream begins with belief.
Every new chapter begins with faith.
There have been seasons in my life when those words meant more than a melody.
They became a reminder to keep moving forward, even when I couldn’t see what was ahead.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that flying isn’t always about achieving something extraordinary.
Sometimes it’s finding the courage to begin again.
To forgive.
To heal.
To let go.
To trust God with the unknown.
To believe that your best days aren’t behind you.
We all have moments when life tries to clip our wings.
Disappointment.
Loss.
Fear.
Heartbreak.
But if you stop believing…
You’ve already landed before you were ever meant to.
So yes…
“I believe I can fly.”
Not because life has always been easy.
But because I’ve learned that faith often begins where certainty ends.
And maybe that’s what the lyric has been teaching me all along:
If God gave you the wings…
Don’t spend your life convincing yourself you were meant to stay on the ground.
Instead…
Spread them.
You may discover God has been preparing you to soar all along.
