What’s the Most Spontaneous Thing You’ve Ever Done?

This is probably one of the funniest prompts for me because I’m not really a spontaneous person.

I’m reserved.

I think things through.

I plan.

I overthink the plan.

Then I think about the plan again.

So when I asked myself what the most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done was, a few things came to mind.

Buying a new car was definitely one of them.

But honestly?

I think writing three books may be the real answer.

Not because the books themselves were spontaneous.

They weren’t.

Those stories, reflections, lessons, and ideas had been quietly sitting in my notes for years.

Waiting.

Growing.

Becoming.

The spontaneous part was finally deciding to do something with them.

There wasn’t some big announcement.

No perfectly mapped-out plan.

No moment where I suddenly knew exactly what I was doing.

I just started.

One page became another.

One chapter became another.

And somehow, the words that had been sitting quietly in my phone and notebooks started becoming actual books.

Maybe spontaneity doesn’t always look like jumping on a plane or doing something wild.

Maybe sometimes it looks like finally saying yes to something you’ve been afraid to begin.

For me, that may have been the boldest spontaneous decision of all:

Taking something I had been quietly carrying for years and deciding it deserved to be seen.

Sometimes the most spontaneous thing you can do is stop waiting for the perfect moment and begin anyway.
