Soulful Sunday

You Are Not Behind

If you’ve been feeling like you’re behind in life…

This is for you.

Maybe you’ve watched other people get married while you’ve remained single.

Maybe you’ve watched others build businesses while you’re still trying to find your footing.

Maybe you’ve watched doors open for everyone else while you’ve been standing in the hallway wondering if God remembers your name.

But hear me…

You are not behind.

God doesn’t measure your life by someone else’s timeline.

He measures it by His purpose.

There is a beautiful promise tucked away in the book of Joel:

“I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten…” — Joel 2:25

Read that again.

He didn’t say He would restore the days.

He said the years.

The years you thought you wasted.

The years grief stole from you.

The years fear kept you from moving.

The years you spent surviving instead of living.

God specializes in restoration.

Then Jesus looked at His disciples and said,

“Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest.” — John 4:35

Sometimes the harvest is already in front of us, but disappointment has trained our eyes to see only empty fields.

Defeat has a way of convincing us that nothing good is coming.

But faith lifts our eyes.

And then there is the instruction from Habakkuk:

“Write the vision and make it plain…” — Habakkuk 2:2

Why?

Because vision gives hope a place to live.

Dream again.

Pray again.

Believe again.

Write down that business.

Write the book.

Take the class.

Start the ministry.

Apply for the job.

Call your family.

Love again.

Forgive again.

You are not too old.

You are not too late.

And you are certainly not forgotten.

Perhaps today isn’t about asking God for another sign.

Perhaps it’s about giving Him another “Yes.”

Yes, Lord, I believe You.

Yes, Lord, I trust You.

Yes, Lord, even when I can’t see it, I know You’re working.

The enemy wants you to believe the story is over.

God is still writing another chapter.

So get up.

Shake off the dust.

Lift up your eyes.

The fields are white for harvest.

The years can be restored.

The vision still matters.

And your purpose is still waiting for your obedience.

You’re not behind.

You’re right on time… because God is never late.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6

Soulful Sunday Thought: Stop measuring your life by the world’s calendar. God doesn’t restore according to the clock—He restores according to His promise.
