Today’s Prompt: Who is the fictional character you relate to the most?
Without hesitation…
Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web.
Not because she was the main character.
And certainly not because she lived in a barn.
I relate to Charlotte because she understood something many people overlook:
Words have the power to change someone’s life.
Charlotte didn’t have great strength.
She didn’t possess wealth or influence.
She wasn’t the loudest voice in the story.
But she used the gift she had.
One word at a time.
She saw value in someone the rest of the world had overlooked, and she quietly used her words to remind others of that worth.
I think that’s what I hope my own writing does.
Not to be the loudest voice in the room.
Not to win every argument.
Not to gather the most attention.
But to encourage.
To remind someone they are loved.
To help people see hope when life feels uncertain.
To point hearts back toward faith, purpose, and grace.
The older I get, the more I realize that influence isn’t always measured by how many people know your name.
Sometimes it’s measured by the life you changed with a few carefully chosen words.
Charlotte never asked to be remembered.
She simply chose to use her gift while she had the opportunity.
I hope to do the same.
Because long after our voices are gone…
Our words have a way of continuing the conversation.
