Homeward Bound
As this holiday comes to a close, many families are packing their bags, saying their goodbyes, and beginning the journey home.
Some are returning with full hearts after making beautiful memories.
Others are returning with empty chairs in their hearts, carrying the weight of someone who is no longer at the table.
Some are traveling to joyful reunions.
Others are traveling back to responsibilities, uncertainty, or seasons that feel heavy.
Wherever this day finds you, my prayer is the same.
May God surround you with His traveling mercies.
May He send His angels before you, walk beside you, and watch over you from behind.
May He cover every highway, every back road, every airport, every train, every mile, and every destination.
May every vehicle arrive safely.
May every family be reunited without harm.
May those who are weary find rest.
May those who are grieving find comfort.
May those who are anxious find peace.
And may those who feel alone be reminded they are never truly alone.
If your faith is strong today, may it grow even deeper.
If your faith feels fragile, may you find the strength to take just one more step.
And if you’re still searching—questioning, wondering, or simply hoping there is something more—I pray you encounter love, peace, and grace in a way that speaks directly to your heart.
No matter where you are on your journey, you are worthy of compassion, kindness, and hope.
As we leave this holiday behind and step into a new week, may we travel not only with safe passage, but with grateful hearts.
May we extend patience to strangers, grace to those we love, and mercy to ourselves.
May we never become so focused on reaching our destination that we forget to notice the people God places along the way.
Travel safely.
Love deeply.
Forgive freely.
And wherever the road leads, may you always find reasons to hope.
Have a blessed Soulful Sunday.
May peace go before you, love walk beside you, and may you arrive home safely. Amen.
