Forever Begins Today
I know yesterday’s topic may have been difficult to sit with.
“Not everyone is going to heaven.”
We do not naturally lean toward truths that unsettle us.
We prefer comfort.
We prefer reassurance.
We prefer the belief that eternity will simply sort itself out.
But eternity is not accidental.
It is directional.
And direction is chosen.
The goal is not fear.
The goal is intention.
Because there is no rehearsal for eternity.
No after-plan.
No moment where we step outside of forever and renegotiate our choices.
After it is all said and done,
there will not be room for:
“I should have.”
“I could have.”
“I meant to.”
There will only be what we lived.
I think about Saul on the road to Damascus.
It took blindness for him to finally see.
Whether that blindness was physical or spiritual, we do not fully know.
But something had to interrupt his direction.
And then there were the two disciples walking with Jesus after the resurrection.
They were near Him.
Speaking with Him.
Listening to Him.
And still did not recognize Him.
How close can you be to truth and still miss it?
Maybe blindness is not always about the eyes.
Maybe it is about alignment.
When the spirit is not in line,
truth can stand directly in front of you —
and still go unnoticed.
We shall only pass this way once.
This life is not circular.
It does not rewind.
It does not reset.
It moves forward.
Life is too short to drift.
Too short to gamble eternity on distraction.
Too short to be left behind because of temporary decisions
when we have been given a lifetime of opportunities
to choose the narrow road.
Not perfectly.
But intentionally.
The narrow road is not about restriction.
It is about clarity.
It shapes you.
It refines you.
It asks something of you.
And yes — it costs something.
But so does regret.
So here is the question that lingers:
If today quietly determined your direction,
would you be at peace with it?
Not someday.
Not when things slow down.
Not when it feels more convenient.
Today.
Because forever does not begin later.
Forever begins today.
And direction is not decided in dramatic moments.
Direction is decided daily.
