WORKING IT OUT
God is working it out for your good.
But His version of “working it out” rarely resembles the version you wrote in your head.
In your mind, the story is clear.
The path is straight.
The ending is neat.
The person is obvious.
You’ve rehearsed it.
You’ve imagined it.
You’ve prayed it.
But God is not writing from your outline.
His strategy is more like chess pieces on a board.
You think you know His next move.
You’re certain you understand the plan.
And then He shifts something.
A door closes.
A relationship ends.
The timeline changes.
The certainty dissolves.
And suddenly you panic.
“This isn’t how the story goes.”
But it is.
You just didn’t know the chapter you were in.
We forget He is the Author.
The ultimate storyteller.
The One who sees the end from the beginning.
Sometimes what feels like destruction
is divine repositioning.
Sometimes what feels like loss
is protection in disguise.
Sometimes what feels like chaos
is strategic movement.
You were playing checkers.
He was playing chess.
And the move you thought would destroy you
only strengthened you.
Only aligned you.
Only prepared you.
Because some loves prepare you for the ones that remain.
And some losses prepare you for the life that will.
Short Closing Whisper
The Author sees what I cannot.
So I trust the next move.
—or softer—
He moved the piece I wouldn’t.
