The Man Who Waited
(Arise Series — told in a male voice)
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him.
But waiting is not celebrated anymore.
In this generation, everything is instant.
Microwave meals.
Fast money.
Temporary love.
Quick decisions with lifelong consequences.
But the steps of a good man are ordered by God —
and God does not rush formation.
I used to think waiting meant I was behind.
That if I didn’t move fast enough, I would miss something.
That if I didn’t make it happen, it wouldn’t happen at all.
But Abraham waited.
He was given a promise long before he saw proof.
Years passed. Seasons changed. Doubt visited.
But the promise did not expire.
God was not delaying him.
God was developing him.
And Simon…
Simon was passionate.
Bold. Loud. Ready to fight.
He pulled swords before he understood sacrifice.
But Jesus didn’t need a reckless man.
He needed a steady one.
So Simon became Peter.
Not overnight — but over time.
That’s what waiting does.
It changes your name before it changes your circumstance.
Waiting is not weakness.
Waiting is alignment.
A seasoned man is not built in a moment.
He is forged in silence.
In restraint.
In surrender.
In obedience when no one is watching.
The man who waits learns:
How to lead himself before leading a family. How to pray before he pursues. How to provide stability before promising forever. How to love without insecurity.
Waiting matures desire.
Because what God prepares slowly,
He sustains fully.
I am not late.
I am becoming.
I am not idle.
I am being built.
And when I rise,
I will not rise desperate.
I will rise disciplined.
I will not chase what God is crafting.
I will stand —
ready.
