Love of a Lifetime
Promise me that you waited for me,
as I waited for you.
Promise me that the love story He wrote for us in heaven
will unfold on earth just as faithfully as He foretold.
Before the foundations of the world were laid,
our story was already known.
You are the one He created for me to love.
I am the one He created for you.
Our story is unlike any other—
our path to love has been uneven, marked by waiting, longing, and hope.
But sometimes the road is rough precisely because it is leading us home.
Even if our fairy tale does not look like the ones we imagined as children,
it is still a fairy tale—
one shaped by grace, endurance, and a love that conquers all.
There were moments on my journey when I wanted to give up.
Moments when waiting felt heavier than believing.
But His promises kept me faithful.
I trusted that no matter how long it took,
no matter how far apart we seemed,
He would one day place the gift of you into my life.
And now, as I stand before you and look into your eyes,
I see your soul.
I see the soul of a man who loves me as I love him—
unconditionally, intentionally, and fully.
I see your heart.
And somehow, I see myself reflected there—
pieces of me woven into your spirit.
You are God’s image of love for me on this earth.
A love meant to last a lifetime.
A love that deepens with each passing year.
A love anchored in grace, strengthened by hope,
and carried by faith.
You are who He promised me.
When God created me, He already knew I would need you.
He saw the unseen future and prepared you to be my strength,
my covering,
my steady place to rest.
From the unseen to the present moment,
He has been faithful.
And here we are—
living the love He wrote long before we ever knew how to ask for it.
I vow to wait without striving.
To trust God’s timing more than my own urgency.
To remain soft where the world taught me to harden.
To become whole, not hurried.
And to recognize love not by how loudly it arrives—
but by how safely it stays.
