Standing in Truth
When you know your truth—when you can fully and completely stand in it, withholding nothing—you become free.
Freedom doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from honesty.
There comes a moment when we must acknowledge our shortcomings and face the things we’ve avoided for far too long. The masks. The excuses. The stories we tell ourselves to stay comfortable. When you can walk in truth—no longer hiding, no longer afraid of exposure or disappointing yourself—you step into real freedom.
It’s hard to walk in truth when you haven’t fully acknowledged it within yourself. We often say we want the whole truth and nothing but the truth, but the reality is—we don’t always. Sometimes the truth costs us too much. It asks us to let go of familiar lies, and familiarity can feel safer than healing.
We grow comfortable with the facades we’ve painted. Over time, we begin to believe them. We rehearse old narratives, cling to old versions of ourselves, and rehearse who we used to be because it feels easier than facing who we are becoming.
But the truth is—you are no longer that person.
Living in the past keeps us anchored to identities we’ve outgrown. It allows us to hide behind former accolades, past seasons, and outdated versions of ourselves. Those moments mattered, yes—but they were never meant to define you forever.
Growth requires release.
Truth requires courage.
Freedom requires surrender.
And when you finally stop hiding—when you choose truth over comfort—you don’t lose yourself.
You find yourself.
