I Could Love You Through Anything
Love is part of the journey.
Not always the destination.
Not always the reward waiting at the end of a perfect story.
But the discipline that shapes us along the way.
My favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13 — not because it’s romantic, but because it is demanding.
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not keep record of wrong.
That means love is not ammunition.
It is not scorekeeping.
It is not bringing up yesterday to win today.
Love believes all things.
Hopes all things.
Endures all things.
Endures.
That word alone separates covenant from convenience.
Storms will come.
Foxes will try to enter the vineyard.
Seasons will stretch you thin.
Life will test what you promised in good lighting.
But covenant love stays.
It stays when feelings fluctuate.
It stays when pride wants to speak first.
It stays when silence would be easier than communication.
Through sickness.
Through health.
Through abundance.
Through lack.
Not because marriage is easy —
but because vows are sacred.
Love is time invested.
It is communication practiced.
It is forgiveness extended before it is deserved.
It is your people becoming my people and your God becoming my God.
Love is not always the end goal.
Sometimes it is the refining ground.
Sometimes it is the mirror that exposes your immaturity.
Sometimes it is the place where God teaches you how to die to yourself and live for something bigger.
And that is why I could love you through anything.
Not because life will be gentle.
But because covenant is stronger than comfort.
Love is God’s greatest gift to us —
not because it makes life easier,
but because it makes us better.
“ Covenant is not convenient. It is sacred.”
